TASOK’s Got Talent

On Saturday evening, the lights shone brightly in the CAC as several of our very own fourth grade scholars took to the stage. Some sang, danced, and played the piano, flute, or recorder. Each performer took the stage confidently and thoroughly entertained the audience.

One of the highlights of the evening was listening to each performer acknowledge and affirm one another as they headed back to their seats. Not only does TASOK have talent, but arguably more importanty, it also has kindness and caring. Buckets were definitely filled!

Thank you to Ms. Sherman and Mr. Fitz for sponsoring this entertainment extravaganza and for the student council members for organizing the evening and helping Mina and Laetitia make the donations drive a reality.

Student-Led Conferences

Thank you, Parents, for participating in today’s student-led conference. Your investment of time is beyond value.

If you were unable to complete the electronic feedback form in the classroom, please take a moment to share some glows and grows related to your experience.

How exciting to see students reflect on their learning journeys and think about how they have transformed as scholars.

Much of what was shared with parents today was purposefully incomplete. Throughout the year, there has been striving, stretching, and soaring, each a powerful part of a perpetual process. Rather than presenting parents with polished finished products, however, students invited their parents to reflect and revise with them. Process is powerful.

As we enter into these final few weeks of fourth grade, desiring to finish well, students also took time to set some goals that will help them begin fifth grade with strength and confidence.

Providing a Parental Perspective

Prior to student-led conferences, our first grade buddies wanted the opportunity to share their learning and thinking with another audience. We were thrilled to sit in! How exciting to see how our buddies have grown as readers and writers and mathematicians. We are sure their parents will be just as proud as we are.

Standing in the shoes of a parent also allowed us to think about what our parents might want to hear from us when they come tomorrow. A scholar… considers different points of view. We were grateful for the perspective this activity provided us, as well.
